Happy February and Happy Valentine’s Day to you!  This month we have some very special articles. Let’s start with a Valentine’s themed article, “6 Place to Kiss or Take a Selfie” by our travel writer Terri Marshall.  She has really traveled the globe and has found the best spots for romance on Earth.

Our new Teen Talk writer Summer Wadleigh writes about the Parkland shooting, such a tragic incident that occurred on a Valentine’s Day just two years ago.  Thanks to Summer for focusing on the shooting that happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and talking about a difficult subject – gun control.

I couldn’t be prouder of our AroundWellington team and the amazing people that come together to bring you this online publication.  We had a great time celebrating 14 years in business this month.  And I thank everyone for their kind words at our celebration/ business mixer, which was held at Village Music & Café.

Speaking of sweetness and Valentine’s Day, the Sweethearts (dessert reviewers Frannie Sheridan and hubby Dani Michaeli) are still providing us each month with their fun video dessert reviews. And now they’ve added a contest to it.  Congrats to this month’s contest winner Judy Adolph!  See Yummy Treats for their video and for contest details.

Three years ago I did a story about a man with a big heart, Jeff Ritter, who started an organization called Jeffros Heroes.  He and his team visit kids in hospitals, and they do it dressed as superheroes, bringing smiles wherever they go.  Now Jeff Ritter and his business partner Joe Lenz have opened a thrift shop to do more good in the community and to support the good that they’re already doing.  It’s called Heroes for Humanity.  Read about it in our AW Spotlight article this month.

Cultural Corner writer Denise Marsh takes us on a tour of a beautiful saddle company, taking us to the equestrian side of Wellington this month.  Read “Back in the Saddle” with her story about Voltaire.

There are so many other stories this month.  As usual, this is just the tip of the iceberg.  Please visit AroundWellington.com and explore!  Thanks for your readership.  Have a wonderful month!
