Lake Worth Downtown Cultural Alliance says “June is Bustin’ Our All Over Lake Worth” The Phantom Piano Appears – Evening on the Avenue: Friday, June 1, 6-10PM

Lake Worth’s Evening on the Avenue will finally receive the long promised Phantom Piano, a gift of the Chafin Music Center at 608 North Dixie Highway.  The piano, a metallic-paint explosion, was created by local artist Craig Fielding.  It is Chafin Music’s gift to the city of Lake Worth. The wonderful cacophony of sound and entertainment greeting visitors on the streets of Lake Worth welcomes this new addition.

For over six months the promise of this piano has tantalized merchants and visitors alike.  The twice a week Lake Worth radio show touted its appearance, promising melodic airs and a chance for musicians everywhere to come to Lake Worth to make music on it.   No piano appeared.  The rumor of this phantom grew and grew.

On Friday, June 1, the Chafin Piano Project finally comes to the streets of Lake Worth.  On this evening Chafin’s very own Bill “12 fingers” Wallin will be the first to tickle its keys.  Ever after, the piano will appear throughout the town, waiting for musicians to find it and crank out their own tunes.  The Chafin Piano Project promises enduring impromptu concerts.

Lake Worth has music pouring out from venues all over town.  From Blues and Jazz to Rock and Roll and Folk, there is not a dull moment all evening.  Dancing on sidewalks and streets is the norm on Fridays.   The Downtown Cultural Alliance (DCA) provides bands in the Cultural Plaza for all Evenings on the Avenue. The Plaza is filled with vendors, food and arts.  Shops stay open with one of kind unusual wares never found in strip malls or shopping centers.

Lake Worth, the little village by the sea, has the only bridge to the beach for miles around.  Stop in on your way to the ocean and visit galleries, restaurants and shops.  Look for the phantom piano and try your hand at a tune or two.

The DCA (Downtown Cultural Alliance) has planned an exciting summer of celebrations and activities designed to welcome the public.  Look for schedules of upcoming events for the entire season.  The Fourth of July promises to the most exciting celebration in the entire region.

The Downtown Cultural Alliance (DCA) is a non-profit association of Downtown merchants and residents working together to keep Downtown Lake Worth vibrant and welcoming.
